The Trinity of God

The doctrine of the Trinity is one of the most difficult doctrines to understand. It’s also one of the most important because it’s at the heart of Christianity. The word “trinity” comes from the Latin word Trinitas, which means “three in one.” The doctrine teaches that there is one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal. They are all fully God and yet remain distinct individuals.

God the Father

God the Father is the first person of the Trinity. He is the creator of the universe and everything in it. He is also sovereign over all things. He is holy and righteous, and cannot be sinned against. He is loving, merciful, and desires to have a relationship with us.

The Spirit of God

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and Jesus Christ. He is full of power and love and desires to have a relationship with us.

The Holy Spirit was present at creation (Genesis 1:2). He inspired the prophets (2 Peter 1:21) and gave new life to believers through baptism (Romans 6:4). He indwells every believer (1 Corinthians 3:16) and gives them spiritual gifts for service (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). The Holy Spirit also helps us pray effectively (Romans 8:26-27).

Jesus Christ: Fully God, Fully Man

Jesus is the Son of God. He is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He is the second person of the Trinity. Jesus is fully God and yet remains fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay for our sins. He rose from the dead and now reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Jesus is the only way to know God (John 14:6). He is the only way to be saved (Acts 4:12). He is our hope for eternal life (1 Timothy 1:16). If we want to know what God is like, we need to look at Jesus (Hebrews 1:3).

Jesus’ Church

The Church is not a building. It’s not an organization. It’s not a club. The Church is the body of believers in Jesus Christ. We are all members of the Church, regardless of where we attend church or how often we go.

The Bible teaches that the Church is the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-32). Just as a husband and wife become one flesh, so Christians are united with Jesus Christ through faith in Him. We are all part of His body, and He desires to have a relationship with us.

Church isn’t about rules or regulations. It’s about relationships – relationships with God and relationships with other believers. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God and to exist to call the world to worship Him. Find a church near Tacloban, Philippines today!

Talking to The Lord Through Prayer

Prayer is not a magic spell and it’s not just words. It’s talking to God, listening to Him, asking for help and guidance, and receiving His gifts and blessings. Prayer can be formal or informal. Sometimes we pray out loud; other times in our thoughts. Sometimes prayer is spontaneous – we don’t know what we’re going to say until the moment of need arises; other times it’s planned, as when preparing for a meeting or event with God beforehand.

One of the best ways to learn how to pray is to read the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word and it contains many examples of prayer. We can learn about what to pray for, how to pray, and what God’s will is for us.

Another great way to learn how to pray is by praying with other people. There are many times when it’s helpful to have someone else there to help us pray or pray with us. Churches in Tacloban also have opportunities for prayer that are open to the public. These times of prayer, as well as small group Bible studies, Sunday services, and special events, can all provide a great opportunity for you to learn how to pray and grow closer to God.

Discipleship: Follow the Leader

Discipleship is following Jesus Christ and learning from Him. It’s not about being perfect or doing things perfectly. It’s about learning to walk with Jesus, to follow His example, and to obey Him.

Discipleship involves growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ and learning more about Him. We read the Bible to learn about Him, we pray to get to know Him better, and we fellowship with other believers to learn from them.

Discipleship is also about serving Jesus Christ. We use our gifts and talents to serve Him and help others come to know Him. We do this by sharing the gospel message and ministering to the needs of others.

Baptism: Public Declaration of Faith

When we become Christians, we believe in Jesus Christ and trust Him as the only way to God. We also receive the Holy Spirit, who lives inside of us and helps us grow in our faith. Baptism is a public expression of what has already taken place privately. It’s an act of obedience to God, who has asked us to confess our faith publicly.

Baptism is an outward expression of the inward change that has already taken place. It’s not necessary for salvation; it’s something that we do once we’ve received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord – it’s a public declaration of what we believe in private. We publicly trust in Jesus as the only way to God and publicly receive the Holy Spirit after a person has privately done so.

One of the first acts of obedience that a new Christian should perform is baptism. Churches in Tacloban have all sorts of opportunities for you to learn more about baptism.
