Finding Our Victory in Jesus

Victory in Jesus is found when we put our trust in Him. He is the One who died on the cross for our sins and rose again so that we could have eternal life. When we receive Him as our Savior, we are guaranteed victory over sin and death. Nothing can defeat us when we are in Christ!

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the Messiah, or the Anointed One, who was prophesied to come and save His people. He is the Son of God who came to earth to die for our sins. Jesus is the only way to receive forgiveness and eternal life. When we trust in Him as our Savior, we are adopted into God’s family and become part of His kingdom. We can have hope and peace knowing that Jesus is in control of everything and that one day He will return again to judge the world.

We Want You to Experience Life to the Fullest

The Body of Christ: God’s Holy People and Bride

The body of Christ is the church – the people who have put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior. We are all part of the body of Christ, and we need each other to grow in our faith. The church is a community of believers who come together to worship God and support one another. We are called to discipleship, which means that we are to follow Jesus Christ as our example and make Him known to others. The Bible tells us that the church is the hope of the world, and we can make a difference in our communities by sharing the love of Christ with those around us.

Spending Time in Prayer

The Bible tells us that we are to spend time with God in prayer. This is how we come to know Him better and learn what He wants for our lives. Prayer is a conversation between friends, not an empty monologue or silent meditation. Our prayers should be honest and open before God, asking for His will and thanking Him for His blessings. When we pray, it’s important that we go into the presence of God with reverential fear – which means respectfully approaching Him with awe and humility – so that our minds are clear enough to hear from Him when He speaks to us through Scripture or confirms answers through circumstances.

The Living Word of God

The Bible is the Word of God and is important for our spiritual growth. It is the foundation of our faith and contains everything we need to know about God and His plan for our lives. The Bible is living, powerful, and eternal, and when we read it we are able to understand the truth about who God is and what He desires for us. The Bible is also important for evangelism – sharing the gospel with others. When we know the truth about Jesus Christ, we want to share it with others so that they can experience the same life-changing love that we have found in Him.

Tips on Reading the Bible

Here are some tips for reading the Bible:

1. Read the Bible regularly. The best way to understand and apply the Bible is to read it regularly. Try to set aside time each day to read a few chapters.

2. Use a study Bible. A study Bible can help you understand the meaning of the passage, as well as provide context for understanding the larger story of Scripture.

3. Read with an open heart. As you read, ask God to speak to you through His Word. Be open to what He has to say and how He wants to use His Word in your life.

4. Read with an open mind. Don’t approach the Bible with preconceived notions about what it says. Instead, allow the Spirit of God to lead you into all truth (John 16:13).

5. Pray for understanding. As you read, pray that God would give you wisdom and understanding. He will reveal the truths of His Word to those who seek Him with a sincere heart (James 1:5).

Baptism

Baptism is an important part of the Christian life. It is an outward sign of our inward commitment to Christ. When we are baptized, we publicly declare our faith in Jesus Christ and our desire to follow Him as Lord and Savior. Baptism is also a symbol of our cleansing from sin and new life in Christ. If you have not been baptized, we encourage you to speak with your pastor about taking this step of obedience.

The Full Armor of God

The Bible tells us to put on the full armor of God. But what does that mean? What is this “full armor” and why do we need it? And how can we know if someone else is wearing it too?

The Armor of God: A Spiritual Shield

The first part of the spiritual shield mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-17 is prayer. Prayer protects us from temptation because as James 4:7 says, “the one who asks receives; the one who searches finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (NIV). We have access through prayer to a power greater than our own, and that power is available to help us overcome temptation.

The second part of the spiritual shield is the word of God. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we read, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (NASB). The Bible is our instruction manual for life, and it contains everything we need to know about how to live in a way that pleases God. When we hide His word in our hearts, it provides a barrier against the enemy’s lies and temptations.

The third part of the spiritual shield is faith. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that “without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him” (NASB). Faith pleases God because it shows that we trust Him and His promises. It is also the foundation for all other spiritual armor because without faith we cannot put on the rest.

The fourth part of the spiritual shield is salvation. In 1 Peter 3:9 we are told, “not to return evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing” (NASB). Salvation is a free gift from God, and it is the source of all our other blessings. It protects us from the enemy’s attacks because it gives us a new identity in Christ.

The fifth and final part of the spiritual shield is the Spirit of God. In 1 Corinthians 2:12, we read, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God” (NASB). The Holy Spirit gives us power and wisdom to live godly lives. He also protects us from the enemy’s deception by leading us into all truth.

When we put on the full armor of God, we are protected from the enemy’s attack. We are also equipped to stand firm against temptation and to live godly lives.
