Saved By Jesus

Salvation through Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved from God’s wrath. Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again three days later, proving that He is the Son of God. If you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal savior, you will be saved and have eternal life.

The Gift of God’s Grace

Grace is one of the most misunderstood words in Christianity. It’s not a synonym for “easy.” Grace is God’s unmerited favor, and it’s what saves us from our sins. Every Christian has been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Grace is a gift from God that we do nothing to earn. A person can’t be good enough to deserve or earn this free gift; he must simply receive it by faith – recognizing that salvation is a free gift from God given to anyone who will believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord (John 1:12). To be saved, you need only say these two sentences: “I am sorry for my sins and I now turn away from them” (repentance) and “I invite Jesus Christ to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior” (belief). If you sincerely say these things, Jesus will save you. It’s that simple.

You’re Saved! Now What?

If you’ve just become a follower of Jesus, you may be wondering what’s next. The Bible tells us that our first priority should be to connect with a local church. Churches are not perfect because they are made up of people who are not perfect, but they are God’s ordained means of providing spiritual community and support.

The Church is the body of Christ on earth, and it exists for two primary purposes: evangelism (sharing the gospel with those who don’t know Christ) and discipleship (helping believers grow in their faith).

As a new Christian, you need both evangelism and discipleship. You need to be around other Christians who will encourage you in your faith and help you grow spiritually. You also need to be around non-Christians so that you can share your faith with them.

Churches provide both of these things. They are a place where you can meet other Christians and build relationships with them. And they are a place where you can reach out to non-Christians and share the gospel with them.

Prideful people don’t want anyone telling them what they need to say in prayer so they just don’t bother with it.

Prayer is how we connect with God. It’s how we communicate with Him. And it’s through prayer that we grow closer to Him. When we pray, we are acknowledging that God is good and He is in control. We are also asking for His help, and that is a sign of humility.

If you’re not currently praying regularly, we would encourage you to start! Here are a few tips:

-Set aside some time each day to pray. It doesn’t have to be a long time, but make sure it’s consistent.

-Find a quiet place where you can be alone with God and won’t be interrupted.

-Talk to God like you would a friend. Tell Him what’s going on in your life – the good and the bad.

-Ask God to help you with whatever you’re struggling with.

-Be patient. Don’t expect immediate results, but trust that God is working in your life even when you can’t see it.

Baptism: What is it and Why is it Important?

Baptism is an act of obedience that shows the world we have personally accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior (Matthew 28:19). It is also an act of identification – it identifies us with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:4). And finally, baptism is a public declaration of our faith (Acts 2:38).

Baptism is not required for salvation. Salvation is a free gift from God, given to us through His grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). But baptism is important because it is our opportunity to publicly declare our faith in Jesus Christ.

Reading the Bible

The Bible is God’s Word – it is His truth, and it has the power to change our lives (John 17:17). It is a living book that speaks to us and shows us who God is. The Bible is also our guidebook for life. It tells us how we should live so that we can please God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
