For by Grace You Have Been Saved

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9). These are the words Paul wrote to people who were already Christians before he even met them. They had believed in Jesus and trusted Him for their salvation from sin, yet they still needed reminding about what happened “by grace” as opposed to what might be expected if we try to earn our way into Heaven or get there on our own merits. Grace means being saved freely without any merit or effort on our part—we can do nothing to earn it and everything to receive it!

The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, offering us forgiveness and eternal life. This is the message that we need to share with others because it is the best news they could ever hear! When we share the gospel, we are telling people about the love of God that has been shown to us in Jesus Christ. We are also inviting them to come into a relationship with God, through faith in Jesus Christ. What a privilege it is to be able to share the gospel with others!

The Body of Christ

The body of Christ is made up of all believers in Jesus Christ, from all times and all places. We are united together in Him, and we are called to love and serve one another. When we belong to the body of Christ, we are connected to Him and to each other. We can depend on each other for support and encouragement, and we can also join together in ministry. What a privilege it is to be part of the body of Christ!

The Bible speaks of the “fruits of the spirit” as evidence of a life that is led by God. These fruits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When we have these qualities in our lives, it is a sign that we are walking with God and living according to His will.

The fruit of love is evident when we sacrificially give of ourselves for the benefit of others. We experience joy when we find delight in God’s presence and in His work in our lives. Peace comes when we trust Him to handle every situation no matter how difficult it may be. Patience develops as we wait on Him and allow Him to work in His timing. Kindness and goodness are seen in the way we treat others, and faithfulness is evident when we keep our commitments even when it’s hard. Gentleness is shown when we extend grace to those who have wronged us, and self-control displays itself as we resist temptation and live holy lives.

As we bear these fruits in our lives, it is a testimony to the world that we belong to Jesus Christ. It also brings glory to God and strengthens our own faith.
