The Body of Christ: The Church

The Church is the body of believers in Jesus Christ. It’s a family and it’s always welcoming to all who want to join us. Churches are also called “the bride of Christ,” which we take seriously because we understand that we’re living out the love story between God and his people. We invite you into our home, no matter how or when you were saved, and hope that you will find a place where you belong with others just like yourself. If there’s not a church near your home, please contact us so we can help connect you with one nearby – whether it be ours or another!

The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit

When we talk about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we’re talking about the three people of the Trinity. These three are one in purpose and love, and together they make up the divinity of God.

The Father is the head of the Trinity and is often seen as the one who initiates things. He’s also known for his mercy and love.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is often referred to as “the Lamb of God.” He came to earth as a human to die for our sins and rose from the dead so that we could have eternal life.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He’s often seen as the one who brings people to Christ and helps them to believe.

You can learn more about the Holy Spirit by reading the story of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-21.

The Bible and Reading the Bible

The Bible is a collection of 66 books written over hundreds of years by 40 different people from all walks of life. It’s a very complex book, but it’s also a personal one shared by God to help us know him and grow closer to him.

The Bible is divided into two main sections: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament holds 39 books with an ongoing story about God’s people with many insights into his nature. The New Testament holds 27 books and tells the story of Jesus and how God redeems humanity.

God’s people in both sections of the Bible – including their triumphs and failures – reveal a lot about who he is, what he values most, and how we should live with him.

Prayer and Talking to God

Talking with God is like talking with someone who knows you inside and out, sticks with you through thick and thin, and loves you unconditionally.

There are many opportunities to talk with God throughout the day. Some people read the Bible every morning as a starting point for their day. Others pray before they eat or go to bed at night. You can even talk to God whenever you feel alone or need help!

God loves to hear from you!

Becoming a Discipleship of Jesus Christ

Once you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you become part of his family, His Body, – the Church. From here, you embark on a lifelong journey of discipleship, growing closer to Jesus and learning more about who he is.

Being a disciple means following Jesus Christ closely and emulating him in every way we can. It’s a process that takes time and dedication, but it’s also one that’s filled with adventure and joy.

There are many different ways to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. Some people choose to attend Bible studies or church services regularly, while others spend time in prayer or meditation. Oftentimes, it’s a combination of all of these!

Water Baptism

Water baptism is an important part of becoming a believer. It signifies that the person has died in their old sinful life and now lives for Jesus Christ. Water baptism is also symbolic of being washed clean from sin, no longer living in darkness but instead walking in the light.

To be baptized, one needs to have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior- this can happen at any point during a person’s conversion process! Churches in Kolkata offer water baptisms regularly so it’s never too late to make this step with God. Once you’ve committed your life fully to following him, you’ll find that he will lead you every day- helping you grow closer in your faith, becoming more like Christ each day.

Becoming a Christian doesn’t end when you’re baptized. It’s an ongoing process that requires you to live in a relationship with God while also seeking him out for guidance and support every day of your life. At times it’ll be easy, but other days will be more challenging.

Importance of Having Church Community

The importance of community in the church cannot be overstated. Churches provide a sense of belonging and support that is often difficult to find elsewhere.

When you become a Christian, you become part of God’s family – the Church. From here, you embark on a lifelong journey of discipleship, growing closer to Jesus and learning more about who he is.

One of the most important aspects of this journey in your Christian walk is finding a community of believers with whom you can connect. Churches provide an environment where people can come together to worship God, learn from one another, and support one another through both good times and bad.

Churches are also a great place to share your faith with others and invite them to come to know Jesus Christ as well.
