The Free Gift of Salvation Through Jesus Christ
What is repentance? Repentance is a turning away from sin and towards God. It is a change of heart that leads us to confess our sins and to commit ourselves to obey God’s laws. When we repent, we receive forgiveness from God and are given a new beginning.
When most people think of repentance, they think of the public confession that John the Baptist calls for in Luke 3:8. “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance,” he says. In other words, don’t just say you’re sorry – show it by your actions. True repentance will result in changed behavior.
But repentance isn’t just about what we do outwardly. It’s also about our inner thoughts and desires. We need to agree with God that we are sinners in need of His grace and forgiveness. We need to want to turn away from our sin and towards Him.
Repentance is a turning point in our lives – it’s when we decide to follow Jesus Christ and become His disciple. It’s when we begin on the journey of discipleship, which is a lifelong process of growing closer to Him.

Steps To Become a Disciple
Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is a process that takes time and commitment. Here are four steps to help you get started.
1. PRAY
When you become a disciple of Jesus Christ, prayer is one of the most important things you can do. Prayer is simply talking to God – telling Him your thoughts and feelings, asking Him for help, and thanking Him for all He’s done for you.
One way to pray is to use the Lord’s Prayer, which Jesus taught His disciples in Matthew 6:9-13. This prayer covers all the different aspects of our relationship with God – from asking for forgiveness and deliverance from temptation to praising Him for His goodness and mercy.
Prayer is a way to connect with God on a daily basis and to stay close to Him. It’s also a way to receive guidance and direction for your life.
2. READ THE BIBLE
The Bible is God’s Word, and it’s designed to teach us about Him and His will for our lives. As we read the Bible, we learn more about who God is and what He wants us to do.
One way to read the Bible is to use a study guide or devotional book that can help you understand the passage you’re reading. There are many different resources available – just ask your pastor or another Christian friend for recommendations.
3. GO TO CHURCH
Church is where we come together as Christians to worship God, learn more about Him, and fellowship with other believers. It’s an important part of our spiritual growth and development.
4. BE INVOLVED
When we become disciples of Jesus Christ, we’re called to be involved in His work in the world. That means using our gifts and talents to serve Him and others.
There are many different ways to get involved in church – from serving on a committee or team to leading or teaching a class, to simply helping out with tasks like setting up for events or cleaning up afterward.
The important thing is to find something that you’re interested in and that you can commit to doing regularly.
Faithful God
God is faithful. He never leaves us alone, and He always fulfills His promises. When we’re going through difficult times, it’s important to remember that God is still with us and He has a plan for our lives.
The Bible says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). No matter what we go through in life, we can trust that God has a good plan for us.
When we’re feeling down, it’s helpful to read Psalm 23, which is called the “Psalm of David.” This Psalm reminds us that God is always with us, no matter what. It also talks about the peace and security we can find in Him.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:1-6).
God is always with us, and He has a plan for our lives. We can trust Him to guide us through anything we go through.
