The Trinity: Knowing God

The Trinity of God is one of the most mysterious and incomprehensible doctrines of Christianity. It’s also one of the most important because it reveals the heart of who God is. The doctrine declares that there is one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in all respects and yet remain distinct from one another.

This doctrine has been debated and discussed by theologians for centuries, but we can’t fully understand it with our finite minds. What we can know is that the Trinity is a mystery which points us beyond ourselves to the infinite love and creativity of God.

Jesus: The Son of God

Jesus is the Son of God, who came to earth as a man to redeem us from our sins. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where he sits at the right hand of the Father.

Jesus is the only way to know and experience God. He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus is also the perfect example for us to follow. He said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).

The Church: God’s Family

The church is the body of Christ, his bride, and his people. It’s a group of people who have been united by faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus and that salvation is maintained by our good works. The church is the community of believers where we can grow in our faith and serve one another.
