The Church of Jesus Christ
The Church is a spiritual body made up of all believers throughout the ages, joined together by their faith in Jesus Christ. As a part of this spiritual body, we are connected to other Christians all over the world, and we have access to the power and strength of God’s Spirit working through His people. We also have the privilege of being led and taught by God’s Word, which is found in Scripture. The Church is important because it is where we find discipleship, fellowship, and support as we grow in our faith.

We Want You to Experience Life to the Fullest
Jesus and The Gospel
Jesus is the Son of God, sent to earth as a man to take away the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He is the only way for us to be forgiven and live forever in heaven with God. He is called Savior because he saves us from our sins and an eternity apart from God. He came to earth not only to save us but to teach us how we can follow his example of loving others and serving them in whatever ways we can.
Jesus’ birth was foretold by prophets many hundreds of years before his birth. He grew up in a small town called Nazareth, and he performed the miracles that showed who he was—God’s Son sent to save us from our sins. People did not want to believe he was the Messiah, even though they saw him heal sick people, calm storms that threatened to destroy the land, and raise people from death. He was rejected by his people and then betrayed by one of his closest friends. But he remained true to God’s plan for him until the very end.
God showed his great love for us when Jesus died on a cross between two criminals. Yet three days later, God raised him from the dead! Jesus’ resurrection proved that he is truly the Messiah, or Christ—God’s chosen Savior for all people. No one else has ever lived a life as perfect and righteous as his.
Jesus is alive today and wants to be in a relationship with us. But we have to repent of our sins and trust in Jesus, asking Him to forgive us and make us part of his family.
Becoming a Disciple
What does it mean to become a disciple of Jesus Christ? The word “disciple” simply means “student.” When we become disciples of Jesus Christ, we are committing to learning from Him and following His example in every area of our lives. We want to grow in our relationship with Him, and we want to be obedient to everything He asks us to do.
Jesus is the perfect teacher and leader and He has given us everything we need to know to follow Him. He has also provided guidance and support through the Holy Spirit, who lives inside every believer. We need to be connected to a church community, where we can learn from other believers and grow in our faith together.
Being a disciple of Jesus is an exciting, life-changing journey! We are given the gift of everlasting life when we trust in Jesus Christ. We hope that every person on earth will have the opportunity to know Him and learn from Him as well.
Our churches are a vital part of our community because they provide spiritual guidance, discipleship opportunities, and a place to build lasting friendships. Churches help us stay connected to God, each other, and the local community through outreach efforts and service projects. Churches encourage every person to grow closer in their relationship with Christ through worship, prayer, and Bible study. Churches also provide a family-friendly environment where we can all come together as one body of believers, regardless of age or background. Churches are the place where we can all learn more about who God is and how to become more like Christ. Churches can also be a place for fun activities, fellowship, and making new friends.
The Bible is the story of God’s love for us as His creation. It tells us about His plan for us to be forgiven and made new again through Jesus. It also teaches us about God’s hope for the future–that one day, Jesus will return to take all of his followers home to heaven.
The Bible is not meant to be read alone or only on our own. We are instructed in the Bible to come together regularly as a group to read and study it as a church. It benefits us greatly when we study God’s Word with other believers, who can encourage and strengthen us along the way!
Jesus tells us that “where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am also.” Jesus makes Himself available to be with us through prayer, which is talking to Him. Prayer brings us closer to God and feeds our spirit with His presence. We can share all of the things in our lives with Jesus, who gives us wisdom, understanding, hope, and encouragement.
The Holy Spirit helps us pray by reminding us of what God has said in the Bible. When we pray, we are talking to God but the Holy Spirit is our connection between us and Him. We can pray anytime or anywhere, whether that means talking out loud with our lips or silently in our minds. Sometimes people like to write down their prayers on paper as a way of expressing them to God more thoroughly.
