Jesus The Messiah

Jesus is the Messiah, who came to Earth to save us from our sins. He’s also known as Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus Christ, and Yeshua (meaning “The Lord Saves”).

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Israel around 4 BC. His mother was Mary. When he grew up he became a carpenter like his father Joseph. He had 12 disciples or followers that helped him carry out his ministry throughout Judea and Galilee in present-day Israel.

Jesus was a great teacher and a very powerful healer. He taught his disciples how to pray, and they started calling him ‘Rabbi’ which means ‘Teacher’.

He also did many miracles that showed people just how powerful he was.

One of the most important miracles in the whole Bible was when Jesus calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee. He spoke to the wind and waves and told them to be still. At first, everyone was afraid, but then they saw how powerful he truly was.

Jesus knew that people everywhere needed him to forgive their sins so that they could live with God forever in Heaven because all people are sinful. He was born to die, so he willingly made the journey up to Jerusalem where he gave his life as a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus died on a cross between two thieves, but three days later he came back to life again. He is now in Heaven at God’s right hand where he can hear us when we pray and answer our prayers.

Jesus wants us to follow him, to stay close to him, and he offers his peace and love to all who want them. He loves you unconditionally because of how God loved him first. If you accept Jesus’ gift of salvation through faith in himself, then you have become a son or daughter of God! You are saved, and he is your personal Lord and Savior. You will live with him in heaven forever after you die (and we hope that’s a long time from now!).

We Want You to Experience Life to the Fullest

Salvation

Salvation means asking Jesus to forgive your sins, believing that he came to Earth and died on the cross for our sins, and trusting that he rose from the dead so that we could be forgiven and go to Heaven.

Salvation is a gift from God, but there are steps you have to take in order to receive it: first, you must admit that you’re a sinner who needs saving; then, you must then repent of your sins, and ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and Lord of your life.

When you accept Jesus, he forgives all the wrong things you have ever done and promises to give you a home in Heaven someday when you die. You will receive this gift of salvation just by asking him into your life!

Discipleship

Discipleship is following Jesus everywhere. It means learning to live as Jesus taught us.

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus’ disciples are always at his side. They travel with him, they learn from him, and then they go out into the world to teach others what they learned. The reason that people were able to do amazing things because of Jesus was not because of their great faith or good intentions. It was because they made a choice to follow God’s Son, and trust him with everything.

“Those who have found their life will lose it, and those who have lost their life for my sake will find it.” – Matthew 10:39

That is why Churches exist–so that we can live our lives for Jesus! Churches exist so that we will connect to God, other Christians, and our community.

How to Pray

When you pray, it’s important to talk to God just as you would talk to a friend. You can pray anytime, anywhere–even in the middle of a busy day.

The most important thing is, to be honest, and open with God, and to remember that he is always listening. Here are some tips for how to pray:

– Start by thanking God for all the good things in your life.

– Tell God about your worries and concerns, and ask him for help.

– Ask God to help you make wise decisions.

– Praise God for his greatness and goodness.

– Pray for others, including those who are sick or struggling.

– End by telling God you love him and inviting him to be part of your life.

Public vs Private Prayer

When Christians pray together in Churches, it’s called corporate prayer or public prayer. This is different from the private prayers that people say at home or when they are alone.

You can ask God for anything you want during public prayer, but not during private prayer. Private prayer is more of a conversation between you and God where you can pray about anything and everything.

The Churches in this District use public/corporate prayer as a tool to help everyone stay connected to God and to each other.
