Our Salvation
When most people think of being saved, they think of a moment when they accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. And while it’s certainly true that accepting Jesus is the beginning of a relationship with Him, salvation is much more than just an individual experience.
The Bible tells us that we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). What this means is that God doesn’t require anything from us in order to be saved – not good works, not our own strength or righteousness. It’s all because of His love and mercy that we are forgiven and given eternal life.
This isn’t to say that we can sit back and do nothing – on the contrary, once we’re saved, we’re called to live for Him and share His love with others. But it is comforting to know that no matter what we do, or how sinful we may be, God still loves us and wants to have a relationship with us.

Discipleship
A disciple is simply a follower of Jesus Christ. As His disciples, we are called to imitate Him in everything we do (Ephesians 5:1). This means living according to His teachings, obeying His commands, and sharing the Good News of salvation with others.
The best way to grow as a disciple is to be in a regular community with other believers. This can happen through involvement in a small group or Sunday school class at your church, or even just gathering together regularly with a few friends to study the Bible and pray.
Whatever form it takes, discipleship is an essential part of following Christ. It’s not something that we can do on our own – we need the help and support of others to grow in our faith.
Water Baptism
Baptism is an outward sign of the inward change that has taken place in our lives when we accepted Jesus as our Savior. It’s an important step of obedience for all believers, and it’s a way for us to publicly declare our faith in Him.
Talking to God: Prayer
Prayer is simply talking to God. It’s a way for us to communicate with Him, express our needs and concerns, and give thanks for His blessings in our lives.
The Bible tells us that we are to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This doesn’t mean that we need to be constantly praying out loud – even our thoughts and attitudes can be prayers if they’re directed towards God. But it does mean that prayer should be a regular part of our lives, both individually and as a church community.
Reading the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word, and it’s our primary source for knowing Him and His will for our lives. As we read it, the Holy Spirit uses it to transform us into the likeness of Christ (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
For new Christians, we recommend starting with the Gospel of John. It’s a good place to begin because it tells us about who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Once you’ve read through John, you can move on to other books of the Bible. If you’re not sure where to start, your pastor or a friend who is familiar with the Bible can help you find a good next book to read.
The Great Commission
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus gives His followers the great commission – to go out and make disciples of all nations. This is a mandate for every believer, and it’s something that we should be passionate about sharing with others.
There are many ways to share the gospel, and it can be as simple as telling someone about what Jesus has done for you. If you’re not sure how to start, your pastor or a friend who is familiar with evangelism can help you get started. But remember, it’s not about us – it’s all about Jesus. So let’s go out and tell the world about what He has done for us!
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is one of the three members of the Trinity, along with God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son. He is a person, not an impersonal force as some people believe.
The Holy Spirit has many roles in our lives, including:
-guiding us into all truth (John 16:13)
-teaching us about Jesus (John 14:26)
-helping us to understand the Bible (1 Corinthians 2:13)
-giving us spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
– convicting us of sin (John 16:8)
-empowering us for ministry (Acts 1:8)
The Bible says that we should “not grieve the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 4:30), which means that we should avoid doing things that would cause Him to withdraw His presence from our lives. We should also be careful not to quench or ignore Him, because He is vital to our spiritual growth.
