Following The Leader: Jesus Christ

How to follow Jesus is simple, but it’s not always easy. You just need to believe in Him and commit your life to Him. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

When you follow Jesus, you become part of His family – the Church. The Bible says, “And I will pray to the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” (John 14:16-17)

Being part of the Church means you have other Christians to help you grow in your faith and to encourage you. The Bible also says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Water Baptism

When you follow Jesus, baptism is one of the next steps. Baptism symbolizes your new life in Christ and your commitment to Him. The Bible says, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body – whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Talking to God: Prayer

Talking to God is something Christians do every day. We can pray anywhere, at any time. The Bible says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:18)

Here are a few tips on prayer:

-Prayer is a conversation with God. You can talk to Him about anything – your day, your problems, what you’re thankful for, etc.

-Prayer doesn’t have to be formal or perfect. Just speak from your heart.

-Make time for prayer every day. It can be as short as 5 minutes or as long as you want.

-Pray with other Christians whenever you can. It’s a great way to build community and encourage one another.

Reading the Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us. It teaches us about Jesus Christ and how to live our lives. The Bible says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

The best way to read the Bible is to start with the New Testament. The New Testament tells the story of Jesus Christ and His ministry. You can read it online or find a Bible study group to help you understand it better.

Proclaiming the Good News

Jesus called us to share our faith with others. The Bible says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Evangelism doesn’t have to be scary. It’s simply telling others about Jesus Christ and how they can come to know Him. You can share your faith in many different ways – through words, actions, or simply by living a Godly life.

He is Faithful

One of the most comforting truths about God is that He is faithful. He has always been faithful and He always will be. The Bible says, “God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19)

This means that we can trust God no matter what happens in our lives. We can count on Him to be there for us, to never leave us or forsake us. When we face hard times, it’s reassuring to know that God is still with us and has a plan for us.

God is also faithful in His promises. He has promised to forgive our sins, to give us eternal life, and to be with us always. These are just a few of the many promises He has made to us. When we claim these promises, we can be sure that He will keep His word.

Knowing God Through The Trinity

The Trinity is the central doctrine of Christian faith and theology. The word “trinity” does not appear in either the Old Testament or New Testament, but what it describes – God as three co-equal divine persons with one shared nature – has been taught by Christians from at least the 2nd century.

The doctrine of the Trinity states that there is one God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, and yet there are not three Gods, but one. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all equally deserving of worship and reverence.

The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Father, and the Holy Spirit is neither the Father nor the Son. They are distinct from each other, but they share the same divine nature. This means that they are all equally powerful, wise, holy, etc.

The Trinity is a difficult concept to understand, but it’s important because it helps us to understand who God is. He is not some distant, impersonal being. He is a loving Father who sent His Son to die for our sins. And He is a Holy Spirit who empowers us to live for Him.

When we understand the Trinity, we can better understand how much God loves us and how He desires to have a relationship with us. We can also see how our own lives can be lived in community with others, as each member of the Trinity is in perfect community with the others.

The doctrine of the Trinity is important not only for what it teaches us about God but also for what it teaches us about ourselves. As image-bearers of God, we are made for community. We were created to live in relationship with others, just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit live in perfect community with each other.

When we live in community with others, we can experience the love of God in a deeper way. We can also better reflect the image of God to the world around us. So, whether you’re a part of a small group or a large church, remember that you are called to live in community with others. It’s not always easy, but it’s well worth it.
