Jesus and His Church

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Him. Jesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world who takes away the sin of the world. He is our High Priest, who makes intercession for us. Jesus is coming again.

The Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God and to make disciples of all nations. The Church is not a building, but rather people who have been baptized into Christ and are joined together in Him.

Celebrating Baptism

When someone believes in Jesus Christ as their personal savior, they are baptized into Him. Baptism is not just a physical act of washing, but it is also an act of dying to self and being raised to new life in Christ. It is through baptism that we become members of the body of Christ.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again on the third day. It is through faith in Him that we are forgiven and have eternal life. The gospel is not just a one-time event, but it is something that we must continually believe in and receive by faith.

Why Christians Pray

Christians should pray because prayer is the means by which we communicate with God. He desires to hear from us and to fellowship with us. Prayer is also the way in which we ask for God’s help and guidance in our lives. It is through prayer that we grow closer to Him and become more like Him.

There are many different types of prayer. Some of the most common types of prayer are praise and worship, thanksgiving, confession, and petition.

Praise and worship is a form of prayer that is used to express our love for God. We can thank Him for all that He has done for us, confess our sins to Him, and ask for His help and guidance.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:18)

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15)

Reading The Bible

The Bible is the Word of God. It is the authoritative source of truth about God and His plan for our lives. It is important that we read the Bible regularly so that we can grow in our knowledge of Him and be equipped to live for Him.

There are a few simple steps that can help us to read the Bible effectively.

1. Read the Bible regularly. The best way to get the most out of the Bible is to read it regularly. Try to set aside time each day or week to read the Bible.

2. Pray before reading the Bible. Prayer is a key part of reading the Bible. We should spend time praying before we read, asking God to help us to understand and apply what we read.

3. Read the Bible with other believers. It is helpful to read the Bible with other Christians who can help to explain and discuss what you are reading.

4. Study the Bible in-depth. The Bible is a deep and complex book. It is important to study it in depth so that we can understand all that it teaches.

5. Apply what you read to your life. We should not just read the Bible, but also apply it to our lives. We should allow the Bible to transform us into the likeness of Christ.

Evangelism

Evangelism is the preaching of the gospel to the lost. It is our responsibility as Christians to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. We should not be afraid to tell others about what Jesus has done for us.

There are many different ways to evangelize. Some of the most common methods are sharing the gospel through words, singing gospel songs, and showing the love of Christ to others.

“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” (Romans 10:14)

“So go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity, and lives within all Christians. He loves us unconditionally, teaches us about Jesus Christ, comforts us, and guides us when we are in need. The Holy Spirit works with God to convict us of our sins so that we can repent and ask for forgiveness from Him. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can live a life that is pleasing to God.

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17)

“And I will pray to the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” (John 14:16-17)
