What is the Bible?
The Bible is God’s Holy Word. The Bible is a collection of 66 books that were written by various authors over a period of approximately 1,500 years. The Bible tells the story of God’s people, from the beginning of time to the end of the world.
The Bible is also a source of guidance and inspiration for Christians, and it contains teachings on how to live a holy life. The Bible is also a source of comfort and hope in difficult times.
Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word by saying “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

How to Read the Bible
A good way to begin reading the Bible is to start by reading the Gospels in the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), then continue on to the Book of Acts.
After this, you can pick books at random or begin with whatever book interests you most. We recommend that you read a Proverb, a Psalm, and a chapter of the New and Old Testament every day! The more you read God’s Word the more clearly you will learn to hear His voice!
What is Prayer?
Prayer is talking to God. Prayer can be an intimate conversation with the Creator of the universe, or it can be a formal presentation to Him like giving your boss an update on your work for the week.
Prayer is all about communication; you’re telling God what’s going on in your life and seeking His guidance and wisdom as you make decisions about how to live. As you pray, keep in mind that prayer doesn’t have to be “perfect” or eloquent–it just has to come from a sincere heart! God understands everything we’re going through, so don’t worry if you feel words fail us sometimes–the best prayers are often said without words at all!
Types of Prayer
There are many different types of prayer, and each one can be useful in different ways.
Prayer is a way to communicate with God, and there are many different ways to pray. Some people prefer to pray out loud, while others prefer to pray silently in their minds. You can also pray through writing, painting, singing, or dancing.
There are no right or wrong ways to pray; it’s all about communicating with God in the way that feels best for you. However, it’s important to be consistent with your prayers and to make time for them every day.
There are many different types of prayer- silent prayer, spoken aloud prayer, written prayer, etc.
Silent prayer is when you sit and pray in your head, meditating on the Word, (or out loud depending on what you’re comfortable with).
Spoken aloud prayer is when you go to a quiet place inside of yourself, close the door so nobody else can hear, and speak your prayers directly to God from your heart. You can pray about whatever is on your heart, but it’s best to keep the tone of your prayer focused and serious.
Written prayers are when you write down your thoughts and feelings as a prayer for God to read. This is a good way to communicate with God if you’re going through a hard time, or if it feels hard to pray out loud.
Becoming a Disciple of Christ
Disciple-making is one of the most important things a church can do. It’s not just about teaching people intellectual concepts about Christianity, but about discipleship- or training people to become followers of Jesus Christ.
There are many different ways to disciple someone, but the most important thing is that it be personal and tailored to the person you’re working with. Some helpful tips for discipleship include:
– Meeting with the person regularly, and spending time talking and praying together
– Teaching them the Bible, and helping them see how it applies to their life
– Encouraging them in their faith journey, and helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ
– Pointing them toward the Christian community, and helping them find practical ways to get involved
– Inviting them to church and other events, so they can learn more about what it means to be a follower of Christ
