The Trinity of God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit

The Trinity is the Christian belief in three coequal, coeternal divine persons called the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three are one God. This doctrine states that all three persons of the Trinity are equal to each other and have existed from eternity past as a singular being with no beginning or end. They share a single essence but possess distinct attributes such as those pertaining to their respective roles within creation: for example, one is not more “God” than another.[1] In this view, Jesus Christ was also fully human and fully divine (i.e., both part of his deity and humanity). As an omnipotent deity, he created everything out of nothing by means of his Word which was Christ himself.[2][3] The Bible thus asserts that because of this, all things are reconciled back to the Father through Christ, who is called the Logos (a Greek word meaning “word” or “reason”, or planning/thought) in John 1.

We Want You to Experience Life to the Fullest

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the Son of God. He is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and He is also fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay for our sins. He rose from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

Jesus is the only way to know God. He said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are forgiven and have eternal life.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is God—fully divine, fully eternal, and present in every part of creation. The Bible tells us that with Jesus’ death on the cross, he destroyed all sin (1 John 3:8). And because we are sinners by nature (Isaiah 53:6), this means that without Him there would be no forgiveness for our sins–no peace between us and God. But through Christ’s work on the cross, His shed blood washes away our sins like water off a duck’s back (Psalm 68:18). We can now go boldly to him to receive his grace with gratitude and joy!

Jesus said “I am going to send you what my Father has promised, but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)

The Holy Spirit is what Christians call “God’s promise” that he would send a Helper. This Helper came at Pentecost, fifty days after Jesus’ resurrection. The name of this Helper is called the Holy Spirit. He is able to do all things. He comes to live inside us when we ask Jesus into our hearts.

Who is God the Father?

God the Father is the creator of the universe. He is perfect, holy, and righteous. He has always existed, and always will exist. He made everything out of nothing by His word. He is the one who sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. When we repent and believe in Jesus Christ, we receive forgiveness and eternal life from Him.

Importance of Prayer

Prayer is important because it is the way we communicate with God. He desires to have a relationship with us, and prayer is how we nurture that relationship. Prayer is also a way to receive guidance and direction from Him. When we pray, we are acknowledging that He is in control of our lives and that we need Him. Prayer is a humbling experience, and it reminds us that we are not alone. God hears our prayers and responds to them according to His will.

Water Baptism

A baptism is an act of obedience for Christians. Jesus was baptized, so when we are baptized, we are following His example. When baptism is done by immersion in water, it symbolizes the death and resurrection of our Lord (Romans 6:3-5). When believers are baptized, they are expressing their faith in Christ and identifying themselves with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism is a public declaration of the believer’s faith in Jesus Christ.

Knowing God Through The Bible

The Bible is our most important resource when it comes to knowing God.

The Bible is the written word of God, and because human beings are limited in their understanding, we need what the Bible says about who God is and how He wants us to live. It’s also an invaluable guide for life–our most trusted authority on every subject imaginable. The more you study it, the better off you’ll be! You can start by reading these key passages:

“It’s like this – everyone has seen or heard something they know enough about to talk about with someone else.” (James 1:3)

“If anyone thinks he knows anything, he doesn’t yet know as he ought to know.” (1Corinthians 8:2)

“The one who comes to God must believe that He is.” (Hebrews 11:6)

“You can trust Him because he is the One who does what He promises. And you can reach out to him because he’s always there for us.” (2 Peter 1:12)

Discipleship: Following God

Discipleship is following Jesus Christ as our example and learning from Him. It involves studying the Bible to learn about God and His ways, as well as praying and growing in our relationships with other believers. It’s important to be involved in a church community where we can be discipled by others and help disciple others as well. Discipleship is a lifelong journey of growing closer to God and becoming more like Him.
