Saying Yes to Jesus

To become a Christian all you need to do is make a personal decision that you want Jesus to be your Savior from sin. The Bible says: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23). When someone becomes a Christian they are saved by God’s grace through faith in what He has done for us on the Cross – nobody can earn salvation. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

When we put our trust in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord, He comes into our lives and forgives us of all our sins. We receive the Holy Spirit who gives us the power to obey God’s commands and live a godly life. The Bible says: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Water Baptism

Baptism is an important step of obedience for every follower of Jesus. It is a public declaration of our faith in Christ and our commitment to following Him. Baptism does not save us, but it is a symbol of our salvation. When we are baptized, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We die from our old life of sin and are raised to new life in Christ.

If you have not been baptized, we encourage you to take this important step of obedience. Please talk to one of our pastors or church leaders about being baptized.

Our Duty To Prayer

Prayer is vital to the life of a follower of Jesus. It is how we communicate with God and develop our relationship with Him. When we pray, we should always remember that we are talking to the creator of the universe who loves us and desires to have a relationship with us. We should approach Him with reverence and humility, asking for His forgiveness and guidance.

The Bible gives us many examples of prayer, both individual and corporate. Jesus, Himself was a man of prayer, often withdrawing from the crowds to spend time alone with God. He also taught His disciples how to pray. In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus gives us a model to follow when we pray.

“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’” (Matthew 6:9-13)

God’s Word

The Bible is the Word of God and is useful for teaching us the truth about God and His plan for our lives. It shows us how to live godly lives and please Him. As we read the Bible and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us through it, we will be transformed into the image of Christ.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, and He is God. He was involved in Creation, and He lives inside every believer. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to obey God’s commands and live a godly life. He teaches us about Jesus Christ and helps us understand the Bible. He also comforts us when we are suffering and guides us into all truth.

The Love of God

The love of God is one of the most amazing things about Him. It is steadfast and unchanging, no matter what we do. God loves us even when we are rebellious and sinful. His love is perfect and never fails.

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (1 John 3:16)

Our Faithful God

God is faithful. He has always been faithful, and He will always be faithful. He is the God who keeps His promises, and He will never leave us or forsake us. When we are going through tough times, it is encouraging to know that God is still with us and has not abandoned us. We can trust Him to see us through even the darkest times.

“The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all he has made.” (Psalm 145:13)

“God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19)
