Becoming A Christian

Your life can completely change when you become a follower of Jesus. When you were born again, God gave you new life through his Holy Spirit living inside of you.

Before you were saved, you were a sinner under God’s judgment. You did not do good things to earn his love—you could never be good enough. That is why Jesus had to die on the cross for your sins. Because of him, now you can have eternal life with God in Heaven when you die or at Jesus’ return.

Simply pray to God and ask him if you are a sinner. Once you know that, tell him that you believe in Jesus and ask for His forgiveness through his sacrificial death on the cross. Then ask him to come into your heart and life as your personal Savior, Lord, and best friend. This means making a conscious decision to turn away from your own way of life and follow him alone.

The Act of Baptism

The act of baptism is an outward expression that you have asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Your desire is for God’s will to be done in your life, so he has invited you into his family. Baptism is a formal and public way of saying, “Jesus is my Lord.”

It is an act of obedience to Jesus’ command found in the book of Matthew 28:19-20, which says that we are to baptize people into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
